Maa Bajjreshwari Foundation

"Basic education links the children, whether of the cities or villages, to all that is best and lasting in India," said Mahatma Gandhi. At no time have his words been more prophetic, than now. In a world where education has become the biggest differentiating factor, the Foundation offers an edge to students, through its activities.

The Maa Bajjreshwari Foundation was set up in 2005. Named after the Goddess of Power “Bajjreshwari Devi” (Bajjr is a Sanskrit word meaning thunderbolt and Maa means Mother), the Foundation strives to uphold his principles of commitment, honesty and "country above self". The Foundation with its missionary zeal and enthusiasm is a blend of a traditional value system and modern ideology.

The Foundation is a non-profit, non-government philanthropic organization dedicated to education, medical relief, alleviation of poverty. The Foundation's current programme interests lie within two broad thematic areas:
           1. Imparting education at School level
           2. Management Education

Through creating opportunities and working towards a more equitable society, the Maa Bajjreshwari Foundation is trying to make though small, but effective strides in the field of education. The Foundation offers the promise of a better tomorrow, through its projects across India.

Poverty & Children

 - Imagine pulling out your child from school just because you are unable to find a job that pays enough to support your family.

- Imagine your daughter could not attend school just because it has no toilets.

- Imagine entire generations of your family being born into bonded labour, with no hope of breaking free.

- Imagine a country. Call it India, if you will, where 10,000 Indians died from entirely preventable causes.
Outrageous? Yet 10,000 children die every single day in India. More than in any tsunami, flood, earthquake, famine or war. Half of India's children are deprived of their fundamental right to education every day. Two million Indian babies die each year before they celebrate their first birthday.
